Today is my father's birthday.

A mass had been requested in memory of him and although the church and I are not "close friends" I felt obliged to attend.

Just when you think that we are past the point of losing control of your emotions, your soul surprises you and lets out a flood from that fountain you were sure had dried through the years.

I miss you Pai.

Hope the angels know that you don't like frosting on your cake.

The missing only gets worse with time, not better as many had told me.

As for the "Church", I respect the fact that you are a devout Catholic; however, the Catholic church and I will not be friends in this lifetime. They have hurt my family immensely. They did not shake my belief in God, but what they have done, makes part of that world that I cannot stand.

I will continue to praise the Creator in all of HIS/HER creations.
